On October 4, 2025, the 47th edition of the Semi-Marathon de la Légion Étrangère took place in Castelnaudary, a town in southern France. This prestigious annual event, free and open to runners of all genders, attracted nearly 1,000 participants for the half marathon and 300 more for the 6.25 mi (10 km) race. As usual, it was organized by the 4th Foreign Regiment (4e RE), the school of the French Foreign Legion.
2e REI: 2025 Infernal Run
On May 17, 2025, the Camp des Garrigues near Nîmes, southern France, hosted another edition of the Infernal Run, an extreme obstacle course organized by the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) of the French Foreign Legion. The event attracted 800 participants, including a record-breaking 300 civilians eager to test their limits alongside legionnaires and 300 members from non-Legion military units. This year’s race was graced by the presence of Major Gérald Michiara as a special guest.

On October 3, 2024, another edition of the Foreign Legion Triathlon was held near Marseille, Southern France. The still relatively new (and not so famed) race is organized by the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment (1er REC) and attended by non-commissioned officers.
4e RE: 2024 Foreign Legion Half Marathon
The 46th edition of the Foreign Legion Half Marathon (13 miles / 21 km) was held in Castelnaudary (Southern France) on Saturday, October 5, 2024. As usual, the sporting event was organized by the 4th Foreign Regiment (4e RE), training school of the Legion.
4e RE: La Solidaire 2024

13e DBLE: 2024 Boxing Show

This time, he covers the Boxing Show (Gala de Boxe) competition organized by the 13th Foreign Legion Demi-Brigade (13e DBLE) at the regiment’s Camp Larzac, on June 8, 2024. The event was part of the commemoration of the 1942 Battle of Bir Hakeim and was open to the public.

4e RE: 2023 Foreign Legion Half Marathon
In Castelnaudary (Southern France) on October 7, 2023, the 45th Foreign Legion Half Marathon took place. The annual race is organized by the 4th Foreign Regiment (4e RE) in this Foreign Legion training regiment’s garrison town, and held on the first Saturday in October. The event includes a half marathon (13 miles / 21 km) and 10K race. Its first edition took place in 1977.
Foreign Legion: Two legionnaires are 2022 French military boxing champions
During four days, between November 2 and November 4, 2022, the French Military Boxing Championship took place at the National Center for Defense Sports (CNSD) boxing hall in Fontainebleau, in the metropolitan area of Paris. Dozens of boxers from France’s armed forces (Ground, Air, Navy and Gendarmerie) participated, including those from the Foreign Legion. The championship returned after a ten-year pause.
