2e REI: Dissolution of the Serval 2 Brigade
Last week, on November 27, the Combined Arms Brigade Serval 2 (Brigade Interarmes Serval 2), having been serving during the Operation in Mali this year, was officially dissolved in the headquarters of the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) in Nimes, southern France.
A legionnaire receives standing ovation in Canada
A legionnaire, Senior-Corporal from the MLE, received standing ovation during the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands (FIMMQ) in Canada, while playing Auld Lang Syne. Really amazing performance… And YES, even this fantastic musician has passed the hard four-months basic training of the Foreign Legion in Castel.
Vaillant 2013: Exercise of the 1er RE
Two hundred legionnaires from the 1st Foreign Regiment (1er RE) of the French Foreign Legion have passed their traditional November’s military exercise called Vaillant (Vailant). The training took place at villages of Correns and Le Val in southeastern France, between 19th and 21st of November 2013.
2e REG authentic presentation
While a part of the 2e REG is in French Guiana now and the other part of the 2e REG is training for Mali, you can watch a short, authentic presentation of the 2nd Foreign Engineer Regiment (2e REG) of the French Foreign Legion, made by a legionnaire from Brasil. 2e REI and US Marines exercise – official video
As stated before, 2e REI and US Marines trained together at Camp des Garrigues, an urban warfare military camp near Nimes, a town in southern France, where the 2e REI is stationed. An official video was launched by the Foreign Legion.
2e REP and its exercise JURA 2013
On November 11, three companies (3rd, 4th and Command/Logistics) and one team of Commando Parachute Group (GCP) from the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP) finished its week-long regimental exercise JURA 2013. The exercise took place just a few kilometers from Switzerland, in the Jura mountains of the Franche-Comté region, in eastern France, between 3rd and 10th of November 2013. See pics and video.
2e REI and US Marines trained together
Ten days ago, on November 01, a week-long exercise between the legionnaires and US Marines finished. It took place at Camp des Garrigues, an urban warfare military camp near Nimes, France. During the exercise, legionnaires from 2nd Company of the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) and marines from SP-MAGTF (Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force for Crisis Response) were supported by MV-22B Osprey (an American multi-mission tiltrotor aircraft).
