13e DBLE: Desert exercise
In March 2014, an exercise took part at the Regimental camp of the 13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign Legion (13e DBLE), based in the desert of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a country located in the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula, Southwest Asia, bordering the Persian Gulf.

At the end of March 2014, legionnaires from the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) of the Foreign Legion, were taking part in the Border Storm exercise on the Otterburn Training Area in Northumberland of Northern England.
2e REI: New gas masks testing
Between 10 and 14 of February 2014, the legionnaires from the 1st and 5th Company of the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) of the Foreign Legion were testing the new gas masks of the MISTRAL system, which completes the modern French infantry combat system FÉLIN, have been used in 2e REI since 2012.

Ten days ago, on November 01, a week-long exercise between the legionnaires and US Marines finished. It took place at Camp des Garrigues, an urban warfare military camp near Nimes, France. During the exercise, legionnaires from 2nd Company of the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) and marines from SP-MAGTF (Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force for Crisis Response) were supported by MV-22B Osprey (an American multi-mission tiltrotor aircraft). US Marines and Legionnaires in Tonga
Exercise Tafakula 2013. During the first half of September, the platoons from the United States Marine Corps, the Tongan armed forces and the French Foreign Legion realized an exercise in the Kingdom of Tonga, a Polynesian state in the southern Pacific Ocean.
Head of the French Army and the French president met legionnaires in Mali
Army general Ract Madoux, the head of the French Army, visited Mali ten days ago. Four days ago, on September 19, the French president François Hollande visited Mali too. During their visit, both of them met legionnaires that have served in this African country since the end of May.
