Foreign Legion: Military close combat basics with Major Gérald

See another interesting video published by the official French Foreign Legion channel on YouTube. The fourth video of a training series shows the fundamental basic techniques of close quarter combat. They are presented by Major Gérald (the most senior warrant officer), the head of the Sports Office, 1st Foreign Regiment (1er RE), the Legion’s HQ.

In this video, MAJ Gérald teaches how to get down and up quickly, a correct forward roll with getting properly up (to avoid, in his own words, an “operational siesta”, coming to pass with the enemy knee kicking your head) and rolling back with putting emphasis on protecting the vertebral column.

Unfortunately, this video doesn’t include English subtitles as the previous one.
