4e RE: Remise de Képi blanc in Paris

On October 19, in front of the Arc de Triomphe (Arch of Triumph) at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, 58 young volunteers from the 1st Platoon, 2nd Engaged Volunteer Company (2e CEV), 4th Foreign Regiment (4e RE) of the French Foreign Legion, obtained their Képi blanc and became the legionnaires during the Remise de Képi blanc (Obtaining the White kepi) ceremony.

The ceremony was preceded by the four-week long training on one the 4e RE’s farms, following by tens miles of marching with full equipement during 2 days. The ceremony took place in front of the Arc de Triomphe for the first time in the Legion’s history.

These fresh legionnaires will continue their basic training during the next three months.
