In French Guiana in late April 2019, the Foreign Legion’s 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) organized an annual event called Cross Camerone. This 10 km (6 miles) long cross-country run is organized as part of the Camerone Day celebration, to commemorate the famous Battle of Camerone.

Even in early 2019, the men of the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) continue their military training to be ready for carrying out their military tasks. Besides, the famous CEFE jungle center continue in training soldiers coming from all over the world during an international jungle training course called Jaguar.

Foreign Legion: Christmas Challenges 2018
As a long-existed tradition, all units of the French Foreign Legion organize Christmas challenges before Christmas Eve, the second most important holiday within the Legion. The challenges help to keep unit cohesion, to compare the force of their companies and to provide a little bit of fun for their hard-working men. 3e REI: 2018 Armistice Day in French Guiana
Between November 8-11, 2018, the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) commemorated the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. In French Guiana, the 3e REI legionnaires remembered their ancestors of the RMLE (Foreign Legion Marching Regiment, now 3e REI) who were fighting between 1915-18 on the Western Front in France. The RMLE helped to end the war and became the most decorated unit of the then French Army.
3e REI: 2018 Fourragere Day
On September 20, 2018, the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vauxaillon, fought on the Western Front to break Germany’s Hindenburg Line. This battle helped to end the First World War. The famous regiment fully participated in that action, gained a rare double fourragère and became the most decorated unit of the French Army.
3e REI: Paying homage to Senior Corporal Camara
On August 10, 2018, a truck with legionnaires from the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) had an accident, in which Senior Corporal Ibrahima Camara died and five legionnaires were seriously injured. Four days later, the regiment was paying homage to their comrade. See an official video.

On Friday, August 10, 2018, a traffic accident occurred in French Guiana, South America. While returning from a military exercise, a truck from 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e REI) left the road and plunged into a small ravine. A long-serving legionnaire was killed, and 13 other legionnaires were injured.
