In January 2026, the 4th Company of the 13th Foreign Legion Demi-Brigade (13e DBLE) completed a four-week specialist course focused on night combat operations, a core specialization of the company.
The training began at Camp Caylus, a French Army training area in southern France. Over several weeks, the soldiers practiced operating in low-visibility conditions, improving their skills in night movement, coordination, target detection, and offensive tactics. The goal of the course was to strengthen the regiment’s ability to conduct combat missions effectively after dark.
The program concluded with a final raid exercise in the Aveyron region of southern France. This phase was carried out in cooperation with Air Parachute Commando No. 10 (CPA 10), an elite unit of the French Air and Space Force specializing – among other things – in counterterrorism, unorthodox warfare, and special reconnaissance. The joint exercise allowed the participating units to train in realistic conditions and to improve interoperability during complex nighttime operations.
