Foreign Legion: 2019 Wounded Soldier Day

Between June 21-22, 2019, the Foreign Legion participated in the French Army’s Journée des Blessés (Wounded Soldier Day). The Legion’s HQ arranged a meeting with a concert + several cohesion activities for its wounded legionnaires.

The 3rd year of France’s Wounded Soldier Day is commemorated on June 22. The meeting and the activities for the wounded legionnaires (this year under the title Brotherhood and Innovation) took place at the Quartier Vienot of Aubagne (a town located close to Marseille, southern France), the base of the Foreign Legion Command (COMLE) and the 1er RE.

In the evening of 21 June, the wounded legionnaires and their close relatives attended an open-air music concert within the HQ base.
