Foreign Legion Band: Great Britain in 2025 | French Foreign Legion Information

In early February 2025, an international military tattoo took place in Great Britain. Musicians of the French Foreign Legion successfully participated. See videos.

The Foreign Legion Band (officially called the Foreign Legion Music, Musique de la Légion étrangère, MLE) is one of the most respected military bands in the world. As such, it was not to be missed at the 2025 Birmingham International Tattoo, Britain’s biggest annual indoor tattoo featuring marching bands from all over the world. This year, the two-day event was held on the weekend of February 8 and 9.

Currently, the Foreign Legion Band is led by Captain Vladimir Khourda. Born in Ukraine, with diplomas from the Moscow Military Music College and Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, he enlisted as a simple volunteer in the Foreign Legion in 1999. In the band, he is assisted by a long-serving Russian NCO.
