1er REC: 5th Squadron train at Camp Larzac

In February 2022, the 5th Squadron cavalrymen of the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment (1er REC) trained at Camp Larzac, a military training area located in Southern France.

The legionnaires of the 5th Squadron, nicknamed “Romans” after their squadron badge, went through their joint operational preparation at the Camp Larzac’s Training and Maintenance Detachment (DEE), formerly known as CEITO, where they have got excellent results in evaluation. As a matter of interest, Camp Larzac is home to the 13th Foreign Legion Half Brigade (13e DBLE).

Later, the “Romans” participated in urban warfare training. The training was part of the preparations for a future deployment.
