2e REP: BAM Mountain Course in 2018

Watch a nice video showing legionnaires of the 2nd Company, 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP), the Foreign Legion’s only airborne unit, during their mountain climbing course in the mountains of Corsica in 2018.

The 2nd Company, 2e REP serves as the Mountain Company of the regiment. The Military Mountain Climbing Badge (Brevet d’Alpinisme Militaire, BAM) is one of the two basic mountain military courses of the French Army. The first one (Military Skiing, BSM) takes four weeks and is focused on training in the mountains during winter conditions. The BAM three-week course is focused on mountain training in the summer period.

If you are interested how such course looks like, just see the half-hour documentary, created by the company’s member (an NCO or, most likely, an officer), with impressive natural scenery captured by a drone.
