2e REI: A detachment to train with U.S. Marines in California

Since April 2022, a detachment from the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) has been in California at the invitation of the U.S. Marines from the 2d Marine Division. The legionnaires train alongside their American counterparts.

The 2e REI detachment, led by Captain J. V., is stationed at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California. They train alongside the Marines with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment. The Marines from the same unit trained with the 2e REI in France last October.

On April 30, 2022, both the 2e REI legionnaires and U.S. Marines commemorated the Battle of Camerone.
