The 1st Foreign Regiment (1er RE) of the French Foreign Legion has passed its Vaillant (Vailant) 2012 military exercise. The 1re RE military training took place at Pourrières in southeastern France, at the end of November.
Vaillant 2012 exercise was intended to verify the basic combat knowledge of the legionnaires. Legionnaires passed a two-days tactical march with combat practises, after that they conducted combat in urban area of Pourrières. At the end of the exercise, a military ceremony was performed. The three decrees of “naturalisation” (gaining french nationality/citizenship) were handed over to three legionnaires by mayor of Pourrières.
