Two hundred legionnaires from the 1st Foreign Regiment (1er RE) of the French Foreign Legion have passed their traditional November’s military exercise called Vaillant (Vailant). The training took place at villages of Correns and Le Val in southeastern France, between 19th and 21st of November 2013.
At the end of the exercise, a military ceremony was conducted. Two legionnaires received the medals for their courage during the service in the Afghanistan war. One lady officer from the reserve company of the regiment was also decorated during the ceremony. Thereafter, two legionnaires received the decrees of naturalisation (gaining French nationality/citizenship) from the mayor of Le Val.
