1er REG and 2e REI: Decorating the Regimental Flags

November 19, 2012, the regimental flags of the 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment (1er REG) and the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) of the French Foreign Legion were decorated with a Croix de la valeur militaire avec palme (Cross for Military Valour with palm) by general Bertrand Ract Madoux in Nimes, southern France, where the 2e REI is stationed.

The regimental flags were decorated because of operations in Afghanistan, where the 1er REG and 2e REI were participated.
