1er REG training in Djibouti 2015

While part of the 3rd Company (3e CIE) of the 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment (1er REG) is being placed in French Polynesia in the Pacific now, the 1st Platoon of 3e CIE moved to Djibouti (a country located northwest of Somalia, in the Horn of Africa) on its four-month-long mission, at the end of 2014.

In Djibouti, a former homeland to 13e DBLE, 1er REG legionnaires were involved in the desert training conducted by ex-CECAP, now the Desert Familiarization & Combat Training Center (Centre d’Entrainement au Combat et d’Aguerrissement au Désert, CECAD). They also participated in the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) sweeping and other engineering training.

In recent weeks, the 3e CIE/1er REG legionnaires will leave Djibouti and return to France.
