2e REI: Infernal Run 2022 | French Foreign Legion Information

In late April 2022, another edition of the Infernal Run took place at Nimes, Southern France. The event has been organized by the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) since 2014. The run was 8 miles (12 km) long and consisted of various natural or artificial obstacles.

For this year, the run was renamed La Rafale (“Burst of fire”), in memory of the armored train of the same name used by the regiment during the First Indochina War (1946-1954). Nearly nine hundred legionnaires participated. The run was part of an solidarity action for French wounded soldiers.
