As every year, all legionnaires in all units of the French Foreign Legion prepared nativity scenes for Christmas Eve, the second most important holiday within the Legion. That included also the men with the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI). See the nice results in the videos published by the regiment.
On Christmas Eve, every man with the Foreign Legion remains together with his brothers in arms, from the commanding General to the freshest enlisted volunteer starting his basic training. This day is marked by presenting Christmas crèches (nativity scenes) self-made by each Legion platoon (or a company), and by a regimental joint evening meal accompanied by distributing Christmas presents among troops and performing Christmas “sketches” by young legionnaires for the whole regiment.
See the nice Christmas nativity scenes made within the 2e REI in last December. This long-time tradition has to support both, cohesion and creativity of the legionnaires.
