On October 6, 2018, the 41st Foreign Legion Half Marathon took place in Castelnaudary, southern France. The event has been organized by the 4th Foreign Regiment (4e RE), the training regiment of the Foreign Legion, in their garrison town since 1977.
This year, over 1,100 runners (legionnaires from almost all regiments in the vast majority) participated in the run to cover 13 miles (21 km). The half marathon was won by a legionnaire from 3rd Company, 2e REP with a time of 1h20min33s. In the veteran category, a Lieutenant (most likely a former legionnaire) from 2e REP won the first place.
