In June 2020, the 4th Company of the 13th Foreign Legion Half Brigade (13e DBLE) carried out a training course in France’s tropical commando training center (CNEF) in Martinique. See some images.
In late April 2020, the 13e DBLE’s 4th Company arrived in the Antilles, a group of islands in the Caribbean Sea, located east of Central America. After their arrival, the legionnaires conducted a deployment to Saint Martin, a French small island in the northeast Caribbean Sea, around 190 miles (300 km) east of Puerto Rico. Thereafter, they returned to Martinique, an overseas territorial collectivity of France and an Outermost Region (OMR) of European Union. There, the 4th Company, 13e DBLE have become the 5th Company of the 33rd Marine Infantry Regiment.
In June, the legionnaires were sent to the CNEF (Water & Tropical) training center, managed by the regiment, to improve their military skills. They might remain in Martinique until this August.
A year ago, the 4th Company, 13e DBLE was being deployed to Réunion in the Indian Ocean.
