Le soleil brille (The sun is shining) is a song of the French Foreign Legion. It is a French adaptation of the “Rot scheint die Sonne” (Fallschirmjägerlied), the German paratroopers’ anthem from the WWII period. It was written and composed by Friedrich Schäfer. French Foreign Legion paratroopers adopted is as their own anthem in 1948.

By the way, another song of the German Fallschirmjäger adopted by the Foreign Legion is Contre les Viets, the official song of the 1st Foreign Parachute Regiment (1er REP).
