2e REP: 2023 Saint Michael’s Day

In late September 2023, legionnaires of the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP) celebrated their holiday, Saint Michael’s Day (or simply Saint Michel in France), and their patron, Saint Michael the Archangel.

The 2e REP men celebrated their regimental holiday, September 29, partly at their base near Calvi, Corsica, partly in New Caledonia and Africa.

The French Foreign Legion paratroopers have celebrated the day of Saint Michael the Archangel annually, since 1948, the year of the Legion airborne units’ activation in Indochina and Algeria.
