VIDEO: Mission Lynx in Estonia in 2019 | French Foreign Legion Information

See a French Army official video presenting the French contingent of Mission Lynx in Estonia in 2019. Two French Foreign Legion units made part of the contingent and spent four months in the Baltic state. The 3rd Company of the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) and a platoon of the 3rd Company, 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment (1er REG).

Mission Lynx is a part of NATO’s Baltic Enhanced Forward Presence (EFP) to protect and reassure NATO’s member state of its security. French troops operate within a joint battlegroup led by the British.

The 2e REI and 1er REG legionnaires left France for Estonia (northeastern Europe) in this April to help form the 5th French contingent of Mission Lynx. However, it wasn’t their first deployment to Estonia. Both units had already served in Myssion Lynx in August-December 2017, as the 2nd French contingent being deployed there.
