In February 2019, legionnaires of the French Foreign Legion’s 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) and 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment (1er REG) participated in a joint military exercise to train cooperation within a combined task force.
The exercise took place at Joint Live-Fire Training Center (Centre d’Entraînement au Tir Interarmes, CETIA) of Camp Suippes, one of the largest French military camps. The camp is situated north of Suippes, in the Marne region of northern France.
The joint task force consisted of the 3rd Company, 2e REI + FOS (Specialized Military Search), 1er REG + a squadron of cuirassiers (French cavalrymen) from 12e RC.
