In April 2019, legionnaires of the French Foreign Legion’s 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (2e REI) and 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment (1er REG) meet together during another joint military exercise to maintain their operational readiness and to train cooperation within a combined task force.
The exercise took place at Combat Training Center (Centre d’Entraînement au Combat, CENTAC) of Mailly Camp, one of the most important military training camps in France. The camp is reserved for military training in a company/squadron level. It is situated east of Mailly-le-Camp, in the Aube region of northeastern France.
Two joint task forces (SGTIA A + B) consist of the 4th + 5th Company, 2e REI + 2nd Company, 1er REG + a platoon of cuirassiers (French cavalrymen) from 12e RC + a platoon of combat tanks from 501e RCC.
