French Guiana and the French Foreign Legion? It is not only about the jungle survival activity or the extreme jungle training in South America. Even the young legionnaires of the 2nd Foreign Engineer Regiment (2e REG) have understood that… Once you are a legionnaire, you have to work too!

Having been sent to Guiana for a four-month mission as a rotational company, the 3rd Company of the 2e REG is occupying Quartier de la Madeleine, the headquarters of the 9th Marine Infantry Regiment (9e RIMA). Last month, the legionnaires from the 4th Platoon of the 3rd Cie were rebuilding the playing area of the headquarters.

Quartier de la Madeleine are located in Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, around 60km from Kourou, where is based the 3e REI.
