A military funeral for Harold Vormezeele, a legionnaire of the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP) of the French Foreign Legion killed in Mali, took place in the National Residence of the Invalids (Les Invalides), Paris, on February 22.
Adjudant Harold Vormezeele (aged 33) was killed in a clash with Islamists in the Iforhas region of northern Mali, on February 19, 2013. He was a member of the Commando Parachute Group (Groupement des Commandos Parachutistes, GCP) of the 2e REP. He is the second fallen French soldier since a military intervention in Mali on January 11.
